Family Net Worth Calculator

Net worth is what you own minus what you owe. Tracking it once or twice a year, for the family as a whole, is the simplest measure of whether the plan is working.

Track net worth once or twice a year — the direction matters more than the number. Use the print button below to save this snapshot as a PDF. This calculator is a proprietary PowerMyMoney (PMM) property.

Want the full version? The Excel tracker adds separate sheets for you and your spouse, every asset line from cash to ESOPs, liquidity tiers and goal tagging.

How to use this calculator

  • Value assets conservatively and use the same date each time you update.
  • Include both spouses so the family picture is complete.
  • Watch the mix, not just the total — most Indian families are heavily weighted to property.

Frequently asked questions

How often should I update my net worth?
Once or twice a year is enough — say every 31 March and 30 September. Use the same date each time so the comparison is fair, and watch the direction rather than the number.
Should my home be counted in net worth?
Include it as an asset and the outstanding home loan as a liability, but track it separately in your head: the house you live in cannot fund your goals unless you sell or downsize.
